Since his arrest, conspiracy theorists have written to Kaczynski asking whether he might be the Zodiac Killer. In 2011, Kaczynski submitted a DNA sample to the FBI as part of their investigation into the deadly 1982 Tylenol poisonings.

In an envelope postmarked 6/1/05 and bearing your return address, I received an unsigned, undated not that read:
“An individual you correspond [sic] posts on the internet [sic] claims you are Zodiac. I bring this to your attention because they recently befriended you.”
I am not a bit surprised. There are a lot of abnormal creeps out there who get some kind of perverted kick out of writing to notorious convicts, posting things about them on the Internet, and so forth....
