Dear Mr. Peterson:
I owe you an apology. In my letter dated 12/31/10 I asked you to get me a subscription to The Atlantic. I thought my subscription to The Atlantic had run out, but apparently I was mistaken. ... You may wonder why I don't know how my own magazine subscriptions are doing. Well, the reason is that all my subscriptions are bought for me by a very strange lady in California who pays no attention to what I want in the way of subscriptions. She just orders for me, without my prior consent or my prior knowledge, whatever she thinks I should be reading - including travel brochures. Yes, travel brochures. Like, maybe she thinks I can travel? ...
